Social enterprise chair named best in sector

  • Comment

Ian Church, chair of Central Surrey Health, has been named by the Sunday Times as the best non-executive director within the public service sector.

The Non-Executive Director awards cover six categories, including not-for-profit/public service organisation.

Judges noted how Mr Church had “steered the board to create a streamlined, entrepreneurial business that combines the best of the private sector business ethos with the principles of the NHS”.

“His strategy of being bold, not traditional, in his approach to building a long term business means Central Surrey Health is now recognised at the highest level nationally as a leader in the transformation of community healthcare,” they said.

Mr Church said: “Central Surrey Health is full of people passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. This award goes to them – for their motivation, compassion and dedication to their patients and services.”
