The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is to hold a one day seminar on violence to inspectors and enforcers in both local and national government.

It is recognised that people who enforce the law can encounter violent opposition. The seminar will bring together employers, employees and trade unions to stimulate discussion and to exchange examples of good practice.

Speakers from Arun District Council; the Benefits Agency; HSE and Waverley Borough Council will explain measures that have been taken in their organisations. A speaker from UNISON will give the trade union point of view and describe how to design a preventative strategy.

The event will take place at HSE, Baynards House, 1Chepstow Place London, W2, on Friday 10 September.

If you would like to attend or be represented please ring Robert Beveridge, Press Office Manager, 071 243 6916.
