Waltham Forest LBC has farmed out the management of its revenue services to ICL, in a deal worth£35 million over seven years.

Waltham Forest chief executive Alan Tobias said: 'The council decided to award the contract to ICL because it offered the best combination of price and quality and, importantly, also the best path for staff opportunities, training and development.'

The deal, forecast to save the council£20.5m by 2006, will see 158 permanent staff and 88 agency staff transfer.
