An Anglesey county councillor seen on television attacking a reporter faces a two-month suspension by the council, the Daily Post reported yesterday (p7).

A standards committee set up in the wake of a damning district auditor's report into the running of the island has decided the conduct of John Egryn Lewis breached the national code of local government conduct.

The attack came during a confrontation with a TV crew last April.

Now Mr Lewis, also a school governor, will not be able to sit on any council meeting for two months.

Mr Lewis declined to comment on the decision.
