Islington LBC has lost its appeal against a High Court decision earlier this year that it must repay £1.1 million received from a bank under interest rate swap agreements, the Financial Times reports (p6).

The council was refused leave to appeal to the House of Lords, and must now repay the money to West-Deutsche Landesbank.
