Fife Council has appointed Jarvis as preferred bidder for a£58m schools investment project.

Under the contract, worth around£174m over 25 years, Jarvis will build nine primary schools, as well as two libraries and other community facilities.

Four of the schools will be built by Jarvis, with the remainder carried out by Ogilvie Construction.

Fife has already built three new schools under a public/private partnership with the Pinnacle Schools Consortium.

Work on the new project is expected to begin in July for completion towards the end of next year.
