Kirkcaldy DC has lost an appeal against paying £11,000 compensation to a former employee who won an industrial tribunal case of unfair dismissal, reports The Herald (p2).
Dianne Woodward was sacked for alleged embezzlement, of which she was later cleared in court.
After winning her case of unfair dismissal, the industrial tribunal gave her leave to seek compensation from the council. But the council decided not to pay it and took the case to appeal.
The Employment Appeal Tribunal yesterday supported the industrial tribunal's decision.
