The Daily Mail carries a story (p3) about Kirklees Council's plans to knock three council houses together to accomodate an unmarried mother of eleven children. The case is also mentioned in the Guardian.

Miss Thompson is reported to be delighted at the decision of the Huddlesfield council which will cost around the authority £60,000 plus £50,000 a year for a live-in home help.

A spokesman for the Labour controlled authority said the main priorities were the interests of the children.
