A claim that thousands of Hertfordshire children are running riot because of a lack of youth facilities has been made by the county council's director of social services, Ian White, reports BBC Three Counties.
White is calling for more money to keep youngsters off the streets.
'If you count up the young people who are involved in crime, who are excluded or truanting regularly from school, who might be involved in the drugs scene or generally dropping out, then you get something in the order of about 3,000 children', he said.
