Cheltenham BC managing director Christine Laird has initiated grievance procedures against the council's leader in the latest stage of the feud between the managerial and political leadership.

A seven member panel was set up by the council to hear Ms Laird's grievance, which is understood to reflect the contents of a complaint she has submitted to the Standards Board for England (LGC, 15 August).

In a separate development, a disciplinary panel has been set up to examine the concerns of leader Andrew McKinlay (Lib Dem) about Ms Laird, who is on sick leave.
