Lancashire CC's finance portfolio holder is now online to answer

questions from council taxpayers on next year's budget.

From today until February 14th, Tony Martin is inviting Lancashire residents to pose any questions on the budget to him by e-mail.

Cllr Martin said:

'The county council's websitegives

information on this year's budget proposals, which will be considered by the

county council on February 14th. I welcome questions on any aspect of the

budget by e-mail on budget2001@public.lancscc.gov.uk

'The website includes access to the county council's Democratic

Information System, or ( DIS), which

makes available electronic copies of budget reports considered by the

cabinet on 3 and 24 January before arriving at the proposals today.

'This is a new, quick and simple method of consultation. I hope it

will encourage much greater interest from the residents of Lancashire in

local government finance which I appreciate is a complex subject.'
