The capital's new office in Brussels, set up by the Association of London Authorities and Greater London Enterprise, will unite all 33 authorities in bidding for funding and lobbying for policies, according to the Evening Standard (p24).

London's share of multi-million pound hand-outs has previously been threatened by disputes among its 33 authorities, some of which have made individual visits to European Union headquarters.

The lobbying campaign was starting within hours of today's opening ceremony, with the launch of the office coinciding with an important meeting of the Committee of the Regions, the Standard reports.
