Bacteria that causes Legionnaires Disease was found in the water supply of a Wolverhampton MBC swimming pool, according to the Birmingham Post (p3).

The Heath Town Leisure Centre in Wolverhampton was closed after routine tests revealed the bug in the hot water system.

A spokeswoman for Wolverhampton's leisure services department said: 'There is no cause for alarm or concern. We have notified all the schools and clubs that use the centre.

'This shows the success of our testing programme and we hope to reopen the centre on Friday, but the whole cycle to clean out the bacteria takes time.'

Earlier this year a leisure centre in Kidderminster was closed for ten days after a strain of Legionnaires Disease was found.
