Reading LGC's survey on council managers' opinions on labour (LGC, 14 April), one thing any incoming government could do is scrap the plans to 'move the goal-posts' on pensions.

If there simply isn't the money for the scheme to continue as it is, then it should be changed for new starters. At least new starters have the choice of opting for the public or private sector.

Many workers, like myself, have been paying into the system for over 20 years, and in some cases received low wages in the knowledge we will at least receive a good pension.
