The Labour party has selected Lewisham LBC leader Margaret Moran as its parliamentary candidate for Luton South reports BBC Three Counties.

Ms Moran, Lewisham leader for three years, was chosen from an all woman short list.

The seat is currently held by Conservative Sir Graham Bright, former private parliamentary secretary to John Major. It is one of Labour's most promising targeted seats in the south east.
