Keith Hill, minister for housing and planning, will speak at the LGA annual housing conferencefrom 4-6 November.

This year the event, with the theme 'Quest for Quality', will discuss providing quality services, improving performance and how local authorities can operate effectively in the assessment and improvement culture.

It will bring together a range of experienced speakers and cover many of the key issues affecting housing today, from empty homes and affordable housing to anti-social behaviour and regional government.

Other confirmed speakers include Joe Montgomery, head of the neighbourhood renewal unit at the ODPM, Jonathan Ellis of the Empty Homes Agency, Sarah Webb of the Chartered Institute of Housing and Roy Irwin of the Audit Commission.
