What does your company do and what does your job entail?
Zurich Municipal provides risk management and insurance solutions to councils and other public bodies.
My role involves working in partnership with customers, advising and helping them meet the challenges of delivering modern public services.
What did you do before?
I have always worked in risk management and insurance for the public sector - I was previously national sales manager for Zurich Municipal.
What is the most important message the private sector can give local government?
Be outward looking and always think about the value you bring to the customer.
What are the best and worst aspects of local government?
Local government is very good at coping with change while maintaining its core business. But it could celebrate its successes more.
