LGC PROFILE - NOEL BRADY, SALES AND MARKETING DIRECTOR, SX3

What is Sx3? ...
What is Sx3?
Sx3 is a provider of technology based business support services. Our head office is outside Belfast, but we have more than 18 other offices throughout the UK and Ireland. In the past two years we have acquired six companies, Aurora Unicomp, XBS, DPS Scotland, SCP, First Software and Microcentre.
What did you do before Sx3?
I was client director for the public sector for ICL in Ireland. Previous to that I was a civil servant for 17 years, working in the departments of finance and social security . . . interesting jobs like fraud officer, visiting officer and dole clerk.
Is e-government really going to make a difference?
In two to three years you will wonder why you asked that. E-government and e-commerce will have a profound effect on everything we do. Five years ago you would never have imagined so many people would be using mobiles, the internet and set-top boxes as much as they are today. The rate of progress will continue to accelerate and citizens will expect government service provision to match this pace.
What have been your career highs and lows?
Highs - the best decision I have ever made was to join Sx3, back with my old friends including my MD, Robert Bailes. I haven't looked back. Lows - moving from CFM to ICL - I didn't like the name change.
When and where were you happiest?
With my wife Barbara when my three sons, Richard, Aaron and Adam, were born - nothing else compares.
