Boston BC is to ask the Local Government Commission to return to Lincolnshire to reconsider its proposals on the future structure of the council.

The Commission are recommending no change to the existing two-tier structure but recent events have fuelled fears that Boston will be left as one of only a handful of areas that are not governed by Unitary authorities.

The council are now poised to negotiate a possible merger with neighbouring South Holland and East Lindsay.
