Suffolk Coastal DC said environmental health officers do not have the power to interfere with cars parked on private land whose alarms may be causing a noise nuisance, reports the East Anglian Daily Times (p19).

The council said all it could do was serve a noise abatement order on the landowner. It could not remove the car as it could on public roads.
