The Express (p32) carries an interview with Ken Livingstone, entitled 'Why this exotic frog should be the mayor of London'.

He says: 'So far most of the people in the [Labour] party who are opposing me are really quite low down the food chain.'

But if the party don't let him stand for mayor, he says: 'I shall loyally work for whichever candidate stands because they'll need all the help they're going to get. I know this from a number of letters we've had saying 'If they don't let you stand, I'm going to vote for Jeffrey Archer or not vote'.'
