Council staff are taking 'customer first' out on the streets during Local

Democracy Week to find out what residents think of the services we

The team will have stalls in the three town centres - Fulham, Shepherds

Bush and Hammersmith (both shopping centres) - on Friday and Saturday from

10am til 3:30pm. Representatives from all directorates will staff the stalls

to present a united 'face of the council' rather than individual business

The aim is to have some 'face to face' contact with our customers and get

feedback about our services through interactive surveys. Queries from

customers will be answered on the spot if possible, or a commitment will

be made to follow them up. The new virtual helpdesks will also be on site.

Virtual helpdesks are usually installed at customer service centres, with

user-friendly guides to council services and online answers to some of the

most frequently asked questions. Each gives 'Where's My Nearest' information

on a whole range of council services as well as answering FAQs and

providing council contact information.
