Over the next two months the Local Government Commission will be holding meetings explaining the review in Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire and Northumberland.

Follow-up meetings will be arranged with local organisations in the voluntary, business and arts sectors in each counties.

This means resuming the review for Cumbria and Lancashire which was halted when the Commission's timetable was altered by the government.

Submission phases for the counties close at the end of February, with final recommendations due to made for Cumbria and Lancashire by the end of July, and for Cheshire the end of August.

Submission phases for Northumberland closes at the end of April, with final recommendations to be made by the end of October
