London mayor Ken Livingstone plans to turn the capital into a city of European style boulevards by transforming 100 open spaces into pedestrian friendly thoroughfares, reports The Sunday Times (p9). No formal plans have been submitted for approval, but Mr Livingstone has expressed support after seeing drawings. Feasibility studies are being funded by Transport for London.
