Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) has been recognised as one of the

top 100 fastest growing businesses in the UK's inner city at the

third annual Inner City 100 Index.

The inaugural Inner City 100, dubbed the 'Enterprise Oscars' by

chancellor Gordon Brown marked a turning point in understanding the

economic potential in the UK's distressed urban areas, revealing how

innovative entrepreneurs and local workforces are leading the

regeneration of Britain's inner cities.

The Mr Brown said: 'The Inner City 100 is helping to create a more

dynamic, innovative and enterprising Britain. For far too long,

the image of enterprise in this country has been of a closed circle

with millions left out'.

GLL has successfully demonstrated over the years that fast growth and

sound financial management are highly compatible with social and

environmental concerns.

GLL is committed to its social enterprise principles. This commitment

ensures that social responsibility and public benefit are an integral

part of GLL business activities.

Our aims is to provide a five star service at a three star price,

ensuring that high quality facilities are accessible to everyone within

the local community.

Mark Sesnan, managing director of GLL, said: 'This award is very

important to the us. We have achieved significant growth in the last

ten years and will continue to do so in the future. The award marks our

commitment to our customers and our staff. We hope we continue to grow

at this pace and continue achieving this award for many years to come'.

GLL is an employee owned society that exists for the benefit of the community.

Based on charitable objectives, GLL is a non-profit distributing organisation,

which manages more than thirty public leisure centres within the M25

area in partnership with five London boroughs and Epsom & Ewell BC.
