The siting of a National Gallery of Scottish Art in Glasgow is a cultural and historical disaster according to Lothian councillors, the Scotsman reports (p7).

The paper says that political groups in the regional council united in supporting a motion put forward by Marilyne MacLaren, a Liberal Democrat councillor who said the siting of the gallery in Glasgow would strip the capital of its historic art heritage.
