A group that includes Westminster LBC, English Heritage and London Transport is to receive lottery funding for a feasibility study into the pedestrianisation of Trafalgar and Parliament squares, the Independent reports (p3).

The Heritage Lottery Fund will provide half of the cost of the £250,000 consultant's report, which will take a year to carry out.

Six consultants are to make presentations to the council on November 12. The successful one will then draw up a series of options for public consultation.
