The future of Gawsworth Hall in Cheshire will be discussed by Macclesfield BC planning committee tonight after a dispute over a historic tea room, reports the Daily Express (p16).

The pavilion at the hall has been run as a tea room since the 1960s, but its owner now wants to convert it into a two bedroom bungalow.

The hall owner, the brother of the owner of the pavilion, is opposing the conversion of the pavilion, saying that it will give it the appearance of a mobile home in green belt land.

The leader of the local parish council, Anne Woods, told the paper that it would like the pavilion to stay as it is.
