Inspector Graham Seal says he was selected for interview by an Essex police authority promotion's board but was not chosen.

But, he claims, because of the force's allegedly more favourable attitude to women, a female officer who was initially not even selected for interview, was promoted after complaining to a senior officer.

The industrial tribunal hearing continues.
