South Tyneside MBC is reviewing the management arrangements for the£2.3bn Tyne & Wear pension fund.
The council aims to award a range of mandates covering bonds, equities and specialist portfolios. It may also review the custody arrangements for parts of the fund.
South Tyneside currently uses nine main managers: Barclays Global Investors, Phillips & Drew, Fidelity, Morley, JP Morgan, Capital International, Schroders, Prudential Portfolio Managers and Argyll Property Asset Managers.
Its current custodian line-up is: UBS, Chase Manhattan, Deutsche, Bank of New York, Boston Safe Deposit & Trust, HSBC and Schroders.
