Bradford City MDC has awarded a£10m contract for the disposal of 160,000 tonnes of waste a year to Waste Recycling Group.

The contract will run for six years with the option of a two-year extension.

Paul Tomes, managing director of the company's Yorkshire division, said: 'We are very pleased to have won this contract and we are looking forward to working with the council to provide a high-value waste management service.'

WRG is one of the largest waste management contractors in the public sector.
