Amber Valley Borough Council
Cllr Lewis, a vinyard owner, told the public during a debate a couple of weeks ago, on Declaring a Climate Emrgency, that Global Warming was good for the British wine industry. He and his fellow Conservatives refused to support this motion. Not the sign of someone with a fresh approach to running a council - more like an ostrich with his head firmly buried.
Absolutely the correct analysis of the disaster caused by vicious, unjustifiable, ideologically driven cuts from a failed goverment.
Do Tory MPs take unpaid leave at Christmas?
Council funds have been decimated since 2010. It is entirely predictable that these same councils are now expected to prop up the disastrous failure of Universal Credit at the expense of other services.
Uhnfortunately Esther McVey is far more focussed on benefit fraud than she is on the far more serious fraud of imposing Universal Credit, when it is demonstrably hurting the poorest families and children.
