Merton LBC chief executive Sue Charteris is to join the best value evaluation panel to help determine which bids should asked to pilot.

Ms Charteris is the second local government representative on the panel and joins Local Government Association head of housing Matthew Warburton.

She said: 'I am very pleased to be representing local government on the evaluation of these very important bids. I consider this a very constructive way forward for local government.'

Her appointment brings the panel's strength up to nine. It is chaired by Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions civil servant Richard Footitt.
