The Financial Times (Oct 12, p4) reported that Barry Hartop, the chief executive designate of the proposed millennium exhibition in Greenwich has an option to return to his old job as head of the Welsh development agency if the exhibition does not go ahead.

But Mr Hartop denied that the option was a sign that the £550m development in south east London was in trouble.

'We are full steam ahead with our plans for the exhibition and with every day I am here, I become more convinced of its success,' he told the paper.
