Scottish local government minister Mr Allan Stewart, today gave a statement on the progress on the extension of CCT to legal services in Scotland. (WA, col 292).

'Since we announced in November 1992 our intention to further extend CCT we have been in discussion with Local Authority Associations about the details of implementation. We are now in a position to consult more widely and have today issued a consultation paper on the Government's implementation plans. Comments are invited by 18 March on a detailed package of measures which will bring the benefits of CCT to local authority legal services.'
