Reading BC said yesterday that they knew nothing of the plutonium or enriched uranium transport flights over their town, the Daily Mirror reports (p4).

Environment chief John Cook expressed his concern:

'If there were an accident they admit any airborne plume could be carried to Reading where there are a quarter of a million people.'

The ministry of defence have admitted that nuclear material is flown over parts of England, en route between the US and Britain.
