Local authority pension fund manager Morgan Grenfell may lose its name and much of its autonomy in a shake up by Deutsche Bank.

The Financial Times (p1) says that the plans by Germany's largest bank would mean combining its own corporate banking activities with Deutsche Morgan Grenfell.

The 160-year-old bank would still be based in London, but its name would be dropped and would no longer have a UK-based chief executive.

Deusche Bank hopes to announce the changes before reporting its annual results on March 30.
