The Daily Mail (February 24, p5) reported that Morpeth BC said it had paid
four visits to a farm suspected of being at the centre of foot and mouth
infection in Northern England.
The council visited Burnside Farm in Morpeth, described in the paper as an
'eyesore', after neighbours complained about bad smells and persistent smoke
coming from the property.
Morpeth BC chief executive Peter Wilson said he understood that trading
standards officers, the environment agency and government inspectors had
also called.
