The Daily Express (p21) reports on a case of sex discrimination involving former Leeds stable girl Nicky Driver who lost her job after taking 18-weeks maternity leave that was refunded by the DHSS.

Driver was awarded£4,200 for sex discrimination, loss of pay and statutory rights, breach of contract and injured feelings by an industrial tribunal. But she lost her claim for unfair dismissal, as she had failed to inform her employers about her maternity leave arrangements.
