Representatives from business and voluntary sector organisations are uniting to form a new coalition to speed up public service reform.

The Future Services Network was launched last week to act as a consumer lobby.

The aim is to get organisations to sign up to consumer-led reform, based around six core principles. These include a greater role for the voluntary and private sectors.

Cabinet office minister Jim Murphy said: 'The challenges for [the network] will be to deliver services that are genuinely driven by customers. The challenges for us will be to develop a more strategic approach to service provision.'
