The Welsh minister, Sir Wyn Roberts has welcomed the publication of two survey reports by OHMCI Wales into the development and organisation of assessment and reporting in primary schools of Wales.

Sir Wyn said the report was well timed to complement the review of the National Curriculum by Sir Ron Dearing.

'It is clear that more needs to be done through training and classroom organisation by teachers at the top end of primary schools', said Sir Wyn, but added that pilot testing of the test for 11-year-olds should provide opportunities for gaining experience and confidence.
