Elaine McWilliam has joined the Association of London Government (ALG) as Principal Education and Arts Policy Officer, on a two-year secondment from the Further Education Funding Council.

At the FEFC, Elaine was employed as regional education officer, with geographical responsibility for the south London area and a lead role in matters relating to further education provision for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, widening participation in further education and adult education.

Previously, Elaine worked as education policy officer at the Association of Metropolitan Authorities and as assistant education officer with the London borough of Sutton. She also held posts with Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire local education authorities.

Elaine's responsibilities at the ALG will include the provision of policy support and advice on education, culture, tourism and sport to the capital's 33 council Leaders and to the ALG's Education and Arts & Leisure panels.
