Andrew Emmett, a chartered accountant, has taken up his post as the new finance director of district audit. He previously worked as an interim manager undertaking a range of high profile assignments latterly with Thorn EMI where he was responsible for the financial requirements of their successful demerger.
Prior to this, Mr Emmett, 39, was European finance director of the LEP Group, which operated in the freight business with a £1,300m turnover, where he was responsible for restructuring its European operations.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Emmett said: 'My role with district audit places me at the centre of a significant organisation which has undergone some fundamental changes over recent years wand its already seeing benefits from this process. I am keen to use my expertise in change management to further support this process.'
