Fifty per cent of members of the Land Authority for Wales and 30% of members of the Development Board for Rural Wales are councillors, according to Welsh secretary John Redwood (WA, 13 July, col623).

The figures, respectively four and three, contrast to nil councillors currently sitting on the Welsh Development Agency.

The number of councillors on the Development Board for Rural Wales will soon be increased from three to five, Mr Redwood announced on 7 July.
