In the Guardian (p2) North Yorkshire's director of social services, John Radsford, defends the rehabilitation treatment for young offenders which involves sending them on holidays abroad.

After yesterday's Daily Mail story about one boy's 'crook's tour' of Egypt, Mr Radsford says that 80% of youngsters who are locked up go on to reoffend so he could see 'no problem' with holidays with a structured regime designed to address offending behaviour.
