A nursery school which had its budget reduced by over 12% has told its pupils to provide their own lavatory paper.

The Daily Telegraph (p11) reports that parents of the 98 pupils of Bridlington nursery school, East Yorks have been asked to help by supplying soap and other toiletries.

Head teacher Joyce French cut back on equipment to save her six staff. A council spokesman told the Daily Telegraph that its nurseries were still more generously funded than others across the country.
