Ofsted has been criticised after two sets of inspectors reached contradictory conclusions after visiting two separate schools with the same governors, reports The Express (p17).

One team gave the governing body of Dogsthorpe Junior School a good report, and the other team criticised the same governors for their performance in running the Dogsthorpe Infant school.

A spokesman for Ofsted said the fact that the inspectors' reports differed did not mean they were necessarily wrong. He added: 'Inspectors make judgments based on the evidence. Having said that, inspectos occasionally get it wrong but we aren't in a position to comment on these specific issues.'
