Oxfordshire CC believes it could receive an extra £5m in support grants after meeting DoE ministers and officials yesterday, reports BBC Oxford.

A cross party delegation of councillors and Oxfordshire MPs visited Marsham Street where they explained that the population of Oxfordshire was increasing, not decreasing, and that there are more children living outside Oxfordshire but educated in the county than the government estimated.

James Plaskitt, Labour group leader on the hung council, said he was extremely concerned that the government got its facts wrong when assessing the county's revenue support grant.
