MPs are debating a Bill today that gives parents the right to see any

complaints against registered childminders, BBC Radio Four's Today programme

reported this morning.

Geraint Davies MP told the programme the Bill would give greater reassurance

to parents. In his constituency, baby Joshua Osborne was shaken to death by

his childminder, who was registered with Croydon LBC but who had previously

had a a number of complaints made against her, of which the Osborne family

were not aware.

The Bill also provides for the registration and regulation of all nannies.
