The Commission propose to make no further changes to their revised recommendations for parliamentary constituencies in Cleveland.

The Commission have considered the latest representations and have noted that four of them contained support for their revised recommendations. The other six objected and raised three issues, two of which had already been considered at the Local Inquiry.

Before submitting their report the Commission will wish to reappraise their recommendations for constituencies throughout England to ensure fair and consistent consideration of one area compared with another. If the Commission then decided to modify their recommendations, they would publish those modifications locally and invite representations on them before submitting their final recommendations to the Home Secretary in accordance with the statutory procedure.

The Commission must submit their report on the general review for the whole of England to the Home Secretary by 31 December 1994.
